At Turtle Republic and SALIHAFA, we create garments designed to be lived in.
Inspired by the relaxed rhythms of coastal and desert life, our products are made to age naturally and beautifully over time. Sun, salt, movement, washing, and everyday use will gradually soften fabrics and create the character that makes each piece uniquely yours.
We believe garments should not remain untouched — they should travel, adapt, and carry the memories of the places and moments they have lived through.
Swim Shorts
Our swim shorts are designed to evolve naturally with use.
Exposure to sun, salt water, chlorine, and repeated washing may gently soften colours and fabrics over time, giving the garment a more relaxed and balanced appearance.
To preserve colours and extend the life of the garment:
- Rinse with cold water after use
- Wash inside out at low temperatures
- Avoid leaving the garment wet for prolonged periods
- Dry naturally in the shade
- Do not tumble dry
- Avoid bleach and harsh detergents
Linen Shirts, Trousers & Resort Garments
Linen naturally develops softness and character through wear.
We recommend:
- Washing inside out at 30°–40°C
- Using gentle machine cycles and mild detergents
- Hand washing in cold water whenever possible
Do not bleach or tumble dry.
Air dry naturally, preferably flat or on a hanger away from direct harsh sunlight.
Natural creases are part of linen’s relaxed elegance. If ironing is desired, use steam at medium temperature to maintain softness and texture.
Cotton Shirts, Polos & T-Shirts
Our cotton garments are designed for everyday comfort and relaxed elegance.
To preserve shape, colour, and softness:
- Wash inside out at 30°C
- Use gentle detergents
- Wash similar colours together
- Avoid bleach and aggressive washing cycles
For best results:
- Air dry naturally
- Avoid excessive tumble drying
- Iron inside out when necessary using medium heat
Over time, natural fading and softening are part of the garment’s character and individuality.
Hoodies & Sweatshirts
To maintain softness, structure, and print quality:
- Wash inside out at low temperatures
- Use gentle cycles
- Avoid bleach
- Avoid high-temperature tumble drying
Air drying is strongly recommended to preserve fabric texture and fit.
If ironing is necessary, avoid direct heat on printed or embroidered areas.
Jackets & Structured Garments
For jackets and more structured pieces:
- Gentle machine wash only when specified on the label
- Otherwise, professional dry cleaning is recommended
- Avoid bleach and tumble drying
Air dry naturally on a hanger to help maintain shape and structure.
Steam ironing may be used to refresh the fabric while preserving softness.
Natural Variations
Many of our products are handmade or produced in small quantities using natural fabrics.
Slight variations in colour, weave, stitching, print placement, or texture are part of the garment’s uniqueness and should not be considered imperfections.
